Introduction
LayOut features an automatic drawing list generation function using Auto Text tags such as for page numbers and for page names.
However, LayOut can only create an automatic drawing list within a single LayOut file.
As projects become more complex, we often need to divide drawings into multiple LayOut files. In such cases, it becomes impossible to automatically generate a combined drawing list across all these files.
The 5D+ Auto LayOut extension is designed to overcome this limitation.
Launched from SketchUp, it allows you to select multiple LayOut files simultaneously, extract each page’s information from the Auto Text objects, and generate a unified drawing list.
Currently, the extension enables you to export this list to Excel, allowing you to easily link it back into a LayOut file — ensuring that your drawing list always stays up to date.
Limitations
This is an early version of 5D+ Auto LayOut, which currently supports only the merging of drawing lists. It does not yet support adding columns or rows, or modifying content.
There are still many limitations, and further improvements will be made over time. The goal of development is to automate user operations when working with SketchUp LayOut.
