The version 2.0.1 changed how the selected object gets displayed. Now all components get highlighted and the label of selection is behind other components. the old version had the label in front regardless of which object was selected, and only the selected item showed highlighted
Is there a setting or default that I can change to get the previous method back? I like the data bridge of the newer version, but his selected view change is almost unusable.

Currently you can’t switch back the highlight function to the version you want. But your request make sense. I may add option to allow switching the way highlight displaying in the next version.
The current mode is very useful when you have many components are spaced far apart and scattered throughout the model. They make it easy to locate similar elements.
Thank you for your response. My concept is for inventory management. Showing racks of pallets, each with a unique ID and a product value. using your clever extension I can search by location (the id is in row, column, pallet format R01-C01-P01) or by product (using attribute “owner” or “status”). So If I were to create unique Components for each pallet ID would that highlight only the selected location? I have tested same product values and the old version worked to highlight all the same values only. With the current version, I entered one location with a product and all the locations inherited that value. And the label showing behind objects is the biggest challenge. It looked like there was a overlay layer before that the labels appeared on, this was perfect. Again thank you for this remarkable extension. One more idea: it would be nice to be able to shrink the width of the dialog even more, I mostly show only 3 columns and would prefer more drawing visible. kind regards.

yes, warehouse pallet placement and product location identification. Just having a list of coordinates is so out dated with the technology available these days. I have drawn a scale model of our facility with racking and pallet locations, and given unique ID’s to every pallet. With your amazing extension we can visually target be location or product. My goal is to make this available for all employees, but the challenge is corporate security settings and software policies. We are limited to how we can share data and software installs are tightly controlled. I am considering a browser based 3d viewer with a OneDrive or SharePoint hosted model and an excel product location list to sync with the model. There are a few solutions available but most use a 3rd party site to convert the model and my organization wont allow that. I wish your extension could work in sketchup for web
Wish I had realized how useful your extension was earlier. I just updated 200 components by hand where i could have used your data bridge feature to copy and past a single column in one step. arggh. but supper glad i found it, was able to write a script to insert random product values to test the function of displaying the selected product. It worked perfectly. great job with your extension 5D should be 5 Stars

And honestly… hearing that you updated 200 components manually right before discovering the Data Bridge feature is both painful and kind of the perfect example of why I built it.

One idea for product feature: allow multiple select. currently we can select one object from the dialog screen and it highlights the object in the drawing window, and shows a label with the name of the value selected (nice touch). We can group by any column and it would great to have a checkbox on the group so clicking it highlights the whole group of objects. Or allowing multi-select with shift+click or ctrl+click per item to add or remove from highlighted selection.

This is great. Now I can shift+click to select multiple, or ctrl+click to select specific. And clicking the grouped by header selects all for that group. This is an excellent update. Thank you Cyentruk.
My next suggestion would be let us choose the label contents to display. If we click the Instance column it displays that, or the Definition column it displays that. Or ad a checkbox on the settings tab to choose which items to include on the highlighted label. Also the groups show up auto expanded, it would be nice to have an expand/hide All button for the groups. I love your extension. 5
This quick video explained changes in version 2.1.0
Just discovered when i select a tag group header it selects all the contents of that group and defaults to the Definition value for the label, but while holding CTRL and clicking the Instance column of one of the group objects the label changes to the Instance value. This is an unexpected bonus. One thing I notice is the highlighted group items have a dashed edge that shows in front of labels when they are stacked. This is only a small issue as rotating allows for viewing labels at different angles. Other observation is when we rotate, the labels and highlights are lost, and when rotating is done we need to select the grouping again to restore highlight. At this point the “selected” group is still showing as selected in the plugin dialog, so the first click after rotate “un-selects” and the a second click “re-selects” then we can ctrl click the instance name to get the highlight view back at the new rotation angle.
