3dface dxf files

hi all
i made a surface file on sketchup using the sandbox
now i’m trying to get that surface into my Leica total station
and be able to use it for 3d grading
i would prefer to use dxf files but in dxf it needs to be a 3dface file
and sketchup creates polymesh files in dxf
how do i create a 3dface file in dxf with sketchup?

I think your only option is to use this older plugin:

Select the “triangle mesh” option from the Tools menu/Export to DXF of STL. It exports SketchUp faces as triangles as acad 3DFACE entities.

installed the plugin
had to manually change the file extension from file to dxf
other then that works great
thanks A MILLION

Hi Jim

last year in June, you sent me this extension to make surface files for my total station and I was able to get them to work well. I did have to change the extension name on the file to dxf but it worked

I recently upgraded to SketchUp 2021 version and i can’t get this to work anymore. Looks like the plugin is not compatible with 2021

the total station Im using is a Leica

I somehow need a dxf surface file for it

I tried to use the 2 files on the snip, but I can’t get either to work

I did change the extension to dxf again because my total station will only use dxf but it’s not working

can you lead me in the right direction please?
