There are lots of spam accounts - it surprises me that so many drop shipping sites or knockoff furniture websites are able to be verified by Trimble to flood the store with massively inappropriate files imported straight from 3ds max.
oh that part is way funnier (and way worse).
They transfered the warehouse from google’s servers to trimble’s ones in spring (march?) of 2014
whatever you see that is dated from march/april 2014 is much older.
there are many threads about the quality of the warehouse, offering solutions to reduce the quantity of models but 2 major points usually are that having (right now) 5.7 million models is a selling point for trimble (halving that would not be “good” in the ads) and we all have a different threshold as to what’s good or not. Trust me, search for “line” and you’ll find way worse models than the post man
Personally, I advocate for a true “certified” system, like the companies have, but for normal people with good quality models. it won’t remove all the slop and direct 3ds imports, and it won’t push the very bad models to the bottom of the barrel but it would ad least make “better models” float atop the puddle.
but after a couple of years supporting this idea, I’ve resigned to the fact that things evolve at a very slow pace, and that I’m better off just ignoring the stuff I don’t want to use.
Kler’s models have the same name because they are of the same collection. but the models are different. you’re pointing at a legitimate issue but half the time you then show KLER’s content even though they are not the problem here.
you keep looking at the same thing though.
edit : if / when you reach that point, at least it tells you you’ve caught up with the new stuff. no need to try to go further.
Yeah, something went wrong with the mass upload from Archiup. in the other thread you tried to hijack, someone was reporting a bug with the mass upload companies have access to. could it be related? I DON’T KNOW, BUT TYPING IN ALL CAPS AND MAKING 3 THREADS ABOUT IT IN AS MANY WEEKS IT MAYBE NOT THE SOLUTION.
but what do I know, I’m just the annoying person telling you to chill.
edit : @TheGuz or @Jake_from_SketchUp can we have an “ignore” button added to the warehouse please ?
Also, could either of you come here and explain what is going on with the archiup account ? it’s apparently quite a tension point.
My question is, we are inundated with spam on all social media platforms. But some of us have learned how to ignore it. Why can’t you ignore the spam on 3-D Warehouse? It’s annoying to me sometimes when I find a model I like and I pull it into my life-size drawing and it turns out that the person saved the car I want the size of the moon but I just laugh and say oh, that guy got me. Lol I would suggest you just ignore 3-D Warehouse for a while and create your own stuff.
It’s the TIME spent going thru’ page after page after page after page after page of the same models they upload EVERYDAY !
When you review “modified” search’ you get this on the daily’ tired of scrolling through 20 pages of the same models’ everytime I go on 3D warehouse
It’s real simple have an IGNORE button’ so you don’t see these repeated/spam models over and over again’
I do create my own stuff’ have a look’
Hey ateliernab!
Here’s a short response to your questions.
An ignore button. What would you want to ignore? Individual models? Collections? Accounts?
As for ArchiUp, I did reach out to my contact late last week. No response yet, but I think I understand the issue and it should be a quick fix once we’ve interacted.
looking around, I’ve spotted a couple of accounts with 4-5 “blank” versions of a file then a normal one. I assume there was some shenanigans in the upload and they reuploaded it again and again until it finally worked ?
Having an “ignore” button likely requires new database fields, new Ui elements and a multitude of other changes and testing.
IF they were to implement such a thing I would expect that it might be something added to a list to requested features and the product development path takes months or maybe even years to manifest in an update.
maybe so’ but this issue should be fixed’ the rest of the internet has ignore features just like this forum does.
Or they could just removed bad actors that keep posting the same models over and over everyday’ and/or make it so they can’t “patch upload” 20+ pages of the same models everyday’
I gotta explain this OVER and OVER… once again to show…
go to 3D Warehouse click “date to modified” now it’s about six pages down or so… and you will see they upload page after page of the same models every DAY !
Seems they batch upload at night so every morning you will get this almost from the start.
But seems funny people defending this activities, and attack the messenger and even go further to tell me to “chill”
even after ignoring him he continues to make the same comments over again’ almost like he’s protecting the spam uploades
great picture. can you point at the identical models please ? I can’t see any. they have the same name, because they are part of the same collection from KLER. but looking at the images, they are clearly a different model.
is it spam ? no. a faux-pas maybe.
the main problem you seem to have with the warehouse is a feature, it’s the fact that while most people upload a couple models a day, compagnies can bulk upload. and that regular people don’t post enough stuff for you to have your daily dose of new stuff.
yes. off course. you keep going back to the same exact models. if every day you go to the warehouse, sort by date of modification, and scroll until you find KLER’s models, off course you will… find KLER’s models.
and if tomorrow you start again and scroll, you’ll end up on… KLER’s models.
I just checked. last week I had to click on “load more” about 5-6 times to reach KLER.
right now, I had to click 17 times. and without any surprise, I saw (again) all the models I already noticed back then.
by the end of the week, I’ll have to click 25+ times but I’ll still reach KLER.
your night. their day.
Yes, you got me, I’m paid by “the lobby of bulk warehouse spammers”.
Dude, you’re ranting because some companies made a bulk upload and because of that, when every few days you decide to go look at the latest models, you inexorably end up looking at the same models.
either give people time to add more content, or scroll past the “mass upload” and don’t restart from scratch every time.
thanks. it’s a lot of work
Funny how the one account you haven’t targeted yet is the only one actually spamming, and it’s the Official account checking if the upload feature works as planned by uploading the same model on a regular basis.
