Does Sketchup even care about Spam accounts on 3D Warehouse ?
I keep bringing up the issue and seems nothing is being done.
Simple go to warehouse click “Models” and “Date Modified” to see the most recent models uploaded and start to scroll through and you will soon find yourself scrolling through pages after page of the same models uploaded on the daily and/or just blank models
This is very disappointing to say the least
chill for a second. it’s not a spam account.
nor it the other one you mentioned in the other thread.
they are both brands uploading products and what you see is the result of the batch upload. it uploads many models all at once then the user has to edit details and all.
Archiup is uploading, faster than they are editing infos.
scroll down, you’ll see some models have been dealt with.
other haven’t.
same with Kler you mentioned. most of it is ok, a few “broken” ones that appears as uploaded today. failed upload ? haven’t taken the time to properly manage them ?
There are spam accounts on the warehouse. the chances that a brand account is a spam account are very low, have you tried applying for an official brand account ? I have, it takes time and scrutiny.
ok, 3 things here.
here is me taking a simple file and sharing it.
here is the warehouse seconds after. I’m right in the middle.
and here I am after a couple of minutes.
it takes time for a simple cube to upload and generate a thumbnail. and it takes even more time for a full catalogue to be batch uploaded and get thumbnails. and it seems that when batch uploading, you still need to manually validate models, that’s why so many looks “broken”.
btw, the Collier’s things are from an account uploading several variations on a picture frame. they are simply using the same default image. it looks like spam, it isn’t.
What about the models that looks empty ? empty thumbnails and all ?
the model is here. for some reason, the camera is looking away. it’s common enough that it’s not human error, something happens during the import. just because we don’t see the model in the thumbnail doesn’t mean it’s empty spam.
yes, you have people reuploading other’s work. or empty files. but the things you’re pointing at are either normal brand account behaviour, upload lag or a true 3d warehouse issue where it can’t create a smart thumbnail of something that it doesn’t technically see.

can you show then ? screenshot or something ? until now, in both threads, you’ve shown cases of products awaiting final validation.
edit : I see all the archiup models. They just batch uploaded 3000+ models and now they’re here, they need to finish the job.
that’s why it’s pages after pages after pages of “empty” models. many with a similar or even identical name. but until it’s properly done, we can’t check.
I have shown them and have explained what I do…
go to most recent models and start going thru’ the pages’ you will end up with this issue of same blocks uploaded on the daily and many with 0 KB and it’s not like 1 page it’s page after page after page I’ll count the pages next time’ (most likely tomorrow morning) I got to get back to work !
I’ve been there, I’ve seen what you’re talking about, but I’ve also explained several times that you’re talking about the 3K models of archiup and that they were not spam but a batch import waiting to be processed.
beyond that, I give up. good luck in life.

Since it’s been explained to you what you are (most likely)seeing and why it happens (batch uploading etc) I suggest you go about this in a different way.
If you like to visit the warehouse and filter/sort so you see everything that was uploaded recently, perhaps petition Trimble to change the way the filter works. So it will not show recently uploaded models until they have fully uploaded, a thumbnail appears and it has at least a few KB of file size.
As of right now, ArchiUp have uploaded nearly 5000 models in the space of a few days. I imagine the 3D Warehouse servers are just playing catch-up.
I agree that it’s highly annoying to see all those blank models but until you pointed it out I bet most people would never have seen them. If I go onto the Warehouse, I’m always searching for something, never just looking at todays uploads.
What I find annoying is the amount of just plain awful stuff in the Warehouse. Models that were most likely made by school kids and uploaded for fun or part of a homework project.
I mean what is this??
Anything uploaded by SketchUp for schools should have a shelf life of 1 year max. This was uploaded in 2014!
all this could be solved with an “ignore” button like the rest of the internet’
even on this Sketchup Forum would be handy !
But some reason I get every excuse and did get instructed by Sketchup to hit the “report” button for issues’ so now I got’a spend MORE time on this lol. So hit report and reason, great’ lol
It’s a pain in the BEEP on the daily to go thru’ the same models (batch uploads) of the SAME models over and over and over and over AGAIN !
Man people can’t seem to read in this forum !
Since you’ve flagged them perhaps just ignore them and wait for Trimble/SketchUp to deal with it in their own time.
From reading this forum, there’s quite a backlog of other things going on.
Maybe by then, the account will have fully uploaded everything, sorted it and removed any duplicates. It was probably tasked to some office junior or trainee anyway.
Yes…I’d definitely be considering hitting that “ignore” right now…
for mechanical and electrical it’s a bit different’
usually I find models on the daily for these fields not just a “chair”
