Right-click on a .skp file and choose properties
Then do the same for the .layout file
Mine only shows one âSketchup Applicationâ option under default app, and nothing under suggested apps or more options.

Yes SketchUp.exe is the correct file to choose, in the version folder you want.

Same problem, maybe Iâll back to 2024 version till the next fix update of 2026.
I may have found a new one and I think itâs a big one. tldr; gridlines show up properly in LayOut 2025 but not in LayOut 2026.
With the general rule of only groups and components placed on tags and geometry on âuntagggedâ my grid lines (which have multiple nested parts, 2d linework [for plans] and 3d planes [for elevations], all on different tags for control) LayOut 2026 appears to not respect the âdefaultâ setting for the tag they are set on and the linework needs to be put on the tag with the dash.. So my 2d gridline geometry(the lines) are on âuntaggedâ, but multiple levels up they are set to a tag that has a dashed line type. LayOut 2026 shows them a solid line and will only be dashed line until I place the lines on the tag with the dash line type. Layout 2025 shows them as the dash they intended to be.
Upon further testing, and making of attached files, in raster mode, they show up properly, in hybrid or vector they do not.

After downloading 2026 my .skp files in finder does not show thumbnails - cant find any SUModel.qlgenerator?
Another issue with Layout. Its minor but annoying. The SketchUp Model Tray/Tags can no longer be resized. If the number of tags requires a scroll down then when you check or uncheck Tag visibility it jumps (scrolls) back to the top.
Strange issue: yesterday used SU2026 without any problems. Closed normally. Today when starting SU2026 it âactsâ as if its the first time I use it so no drawing history and asks to migrate all SU 2025 pluginsâŚ. Also UI is default so have to do the setup again. What could cause this?

Did you also see a dialog asking if you agree to the Trimble conditions? If you did, that would suggest the preferences file had been deleted.
You could go into this folder (paste this path into File Explorer), and see if PrivatePreferences.json has any permissions issue:
%LocalAppData%\SketchUp\SketchUp 2026\SketchUp\
One thing you could do, while SketchUp is closed, is to duplicate that file, delete the original, and then rename the copy as PrivatePreferences.json. Then you can be sure that you have correct permissions for the file.

I didnât get the dialog about the conditions. Canât try the rest. Had to use SU26 today so did the migration etc to get back to working. Will keep this in mind in case it happens again.
Doubleclick mousebutton doesnât work. I have a Logitech G502 Hero mouse,
assigned a doubleclick and a triple click and heavily using the doubleclick.
In SKP and LO Version 25 it works fine, in Version 26 the doubleclick doesnât work at all,

Just for clarity, you are talking about a programmable extra button and not your left mouse button?
Yes, a bit weird I think. left an right mousebutton work as normal, programmed doubleclick works like single click, programmed triple works as normalâŚ
Could be a Logitech thing..
But then, youâre saying it works in 2025..
I wonder if the Logitech software needs to be set up for each version of SketchUp?

if you add software specific stuff, it does. because itâs not the same software.

the triple click already was a programmed makro, made with the software of the logitech mouse,
and so I did now with the doubleclickâŚ
I think I saw this happening in earlier releases also. When creating a shape with the line tool in Layout then going back to edit the shape the points can be moved as they should but the ability to add or subtract points using CTL, Shift doesnt work. Using ALT to add to curves seems to work.
right click to export in the pages tray, well i never knewâŚ.. i learned something new today
