2025 Bugsplat upon start up

Sorry was busy yesterday after this post. That is a interesting question. So I store everything except the app in a seperate storage, SanDisk, mainly because I have lost computers before. Mainly my CAD work has suffered but either way mu main computer says 474 GB and 57.7 is free.

I have 16G of ram so that should be good but I will start getting rid of some of the programs I do not use.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention.

However? As of right now 2025 will not even get to the point where it crashes…now it just tries to open and fails.

Well I just updated right now to see if it helped and it just made it worse. So yes I was on the old drivers when the BugSplat occurred. Now the new drivers really are causing havoc if that is the case?

I am going to reboot and see if that helps.

Did it crash opening a file? You can try to clear out where the auto saves are stored. It might be choking on that is there is a corrupted file in there.

It’s been a long time since I’ve used a windows machine… but when in doubt, reboot.

Bingo…Must be a corrupted file…got it to open…now to check the Space Mouse…

OK Guys just a quick update. I guess this is going to be a “on again, off again” relationship at this point. For starters, I uninstalled my 3D Connexion software…went in a deleted all the folders that were left…re-installed the software and now the SpaceMouse works on both 2024 and 2025.

So far it seemed to be going good but then I got this message this morning:

As of right now I have both 2024 and 2025 running. I will continue to work in 2024 but play around in 2025…just in case these things keep happening.

I am confident your team will get it handled and thank you for all the help…I will continue to forward the BugSplats as they occur.

Which graphics engine are you trying to use? Have you tried setting it to the classic engine?

I have not…I guess because I have never had any problems in 2024 with it? I dunno…these things are not my strong point…ask me anything about air conditioning and I am your man……this stuff? Not so much. I can try it but they both just crashed at the same time…will post ppics of the new BugSplats…

Here are the 2 most recent splats…both 2024 and 2025 crashed at the same time…all I was doing was answering emails…watching the forum…minding my own business…

(This was regarding crash 734436).
This appears to be storage related. “model_storage::pipeline::tasks::RequestTask:”
If you can save locally and set up a timed task to update to your SanDisk, while troubleshooting or upgrading your network perhaps would be my first choice.

But these last two are new renderer-related.

b

I save pretty regularly…learned that from @TheOnlyAaron “SAVE”…but I was not modeling I just had a project open in 2024 and only a template open in 2025…so nothing going on really…and just answering emails and reading the forum…?

OK will open them up again…and I appreciate all the time you guys are devoting to helping me solve this…just FYI

OK guys…some progress…found that my Nvidia was not working…so rebooted and seemed to solve the problem…(How am I going to unplug the card if it’s in my laptop?")……Windows…I tell ya…

The next issue I think was that the graphics GPU preference setting on SU were “Let Windows Decide” mode…which I could have sworn I set it to “High Performance” a long time ago in the 2024 SU…so rebooted and it all seems to be running fine as of right now…even the 3D mouse…

Thanks again guys!..

Well hell…looks like I spoke too soon…as usual…next message:

Is there a reason you’re not running 2025 - because support closed this auto-response:

There are two common causes for this crash. Either corrupt SketchUp data files or outdated drivers. Please follow these steps to resolves the crash: 1. Close SketchUp 2. Go to each of the paths below:   C:>Users>(YOUR USERNAME)>AppData>Roaming>SketchUp>SketchUp 2024   C:>Users>(YOUR USERNAME)>AppData>Local>SketchUp>SketchUp 2024   If you are not seeing the AppData folder, it may be hidden. Try these steps to unhide them: File Explorer in Windows - Microsoft Support 3. Delete each of the SketchUp 2024 folders. 4. Check to see if your graphics drivers are up to date: https://help.sketchup.com/en/sketchup/how-can-i-update-my-computers-graphics-driver If you continue to experience issues please reach out to our support staff at: https://help.sketchup.com/en/contact-support/technical-question/form

Ahh…ok I had 2024 open then…my mistake…I was not sure which version I was in since I am leery of 2025 for now…

OK onward and upward…back to the trial and error…

FYI, Your forum machine profile is out of date. It indicates you have only an integrated Intel graphics.

You don’t. Even discrete GPUs and support components are soldered directly to the motherboard in notebook machines.

But sometimes, if there is a problem with hardware subsystems, Windows can disable them. You can check this via Control Panel > Device Manager.

If you are having problems with, say the Nvidia “Game Ready” graphics driver, I suggest switching to the “Studio” driver. And vice versa.

OK fixed the card info…BUT……the profile will not let me switch my SketchUp to 2025…just saying…

And yea for fixing the card I just had to reboot…eezy peezy…

And again, thank you…

oh yeah, we noticed. it’s been fixed internally but the change will be made public only later this year for the next release.
