So I started using sketchup to build solar models.
Recently I have noticed that Google has more and more 3D data in maps, to show the terrain and trees nearby. (I know that they plan to use this for Project Sunroof and qualify houses for solar).
I was wondering if anyone knew how to get the 3D Data from Google Maps. If it is even possible (reading the forums it seems a lot of people are familiar with Google since sketchup once came from them).
If anyone has an idea or where else I should look, please let me know.
